As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Northeast Pennsylvania Comprehensive Treatment Centers to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

In adherence to the social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC, we have implemented strict protocols at our clinic to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

  • Patients who have active symptoms of illness or a fever of 100 degrees or higher must call ahead to arrange after-hours dosing.
  • The number of people allowed inside the building at any given time is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • The number of people waiting in line is restricted based on county, state, and federal guidelines, and those present must maintain a minimum distance of six feet from one another.
  • To maintain line restrictions, patients are asked to wait in their cars until direction is given.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, on-site visitation is no longer allowed at Northeast Pennsylvania Comprehensive Treatment Centers.

  • This restriction has been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

Benefits of Individual Therapy

Benefits of Individual Therapy for Opioid Abuse

Those who are grappling with opioid addictions have much more to defeat than just the physical dependency they have on their substance or substances of choice. Addiction is not rooted in the act of simply ingesting drugs, however it often stems from the emotional issues that an individual is experiencing as a whole. Therefore, individual therapy can be a highly beneficial treatment for those obtaining care for their addictions.

Individual therapy is a form of treatment that involves a patient meeting with a counselor in a private, one-on-one setting. Within this care, patients can yield a number of benefits as they work to recover from addictions to opioids such as heroin or prescription medication. These benefits can include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Recognizing past trauma or emotional strife that has added to the development of an addiction
  • Realizing new perspectives that relate to the underlying causes behind an addiction
  • Creating fresh skills that are helpful in coping with stressful feelings
  • Working through achievements and setbacks throughout treatment
  • Establishing strategies that help patients avoid situations where their recovery might be challenged
  • Developing personal goals for the present and the future

Understanding one’s own emotions, feelings, behaviors, and reasons why one made the choice that he or she did can aid him or her towards developing a future that is free from substance abuse. Individual therapy is an excellent arena for this conversation to be had, as it allows patients to obtain support from their counselor.

Additionally, those who obtain individual therapy will most likely experience the following benefits:

  • Improved self-esteem
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Increased self-awareness
  • Reduced stress

Each of these benefits can be a steady foundation for an individual to begin moving towards a successful recovery that no longer includes the chains of addiction.

Building a Foundation

Building a Foundation for Opioid Abuse Recovery

At Northeast Pennsylvania Comprehensive Treatment Centers, we believe that the inclusion of individual therapy is critical in treating individuals battling addictions to substances like morphine, heroin, and prescription medications. By allowing individuals to work through their recovery with a counselor, they are able to be treated emotionally and have their progress ensured through the recommendations and supervision of a professional. Our understanding and talented team of counselors will check in on patients to follow this progress and work with them should any concerns or problems develop.

When individual therapy is included into the care we provide, we, at Northeast Pennsylvania Comprehensive Treatment Centers, are able to offer treatment that can help individuals make their opioid addictions a thing of the past and develop the skills needed to stay in recovery. If you or someone you love needs help, please contact us today.
